What is an allstar cheerleader? Allstar cheerleaders are typically members of an allstar squad, meaning a competitive cheer squad. Rather than cheering at football games, these cheerleaders spend their time working on tumbling, stunting, jumps, dancing, and more. Allstar routines last 2.5 action-packed minutes and are very high energy! Currently we have three allstar squads that will be competing at Level 1 and Level 2. Our allstar cheerleaders range in age from 3 1/2 to 14.
Could I be an allstar? Competition cheer/dance are very rigorous sports and requires a high level of committment. Those who LOVE cheerleading and dance LOVE allstars. If you aren't willing to work hard, then allstars is not for you. But, if you love a challenge and don't mind working hard, then you'll love being an allstar.
How much time is spent practicing? For the 2008-2009 competition season, our cheer squads will practice for 2 hours twice a week. Each cheerleader must also attend one tumbling class per week. We also practice one Saturday per month. As competitions draw closer, we add several extra practices. Our Tiny squad (ages 5 and under) practices for 45 minutes twice a week.
